Biography

I’ve lived all my life in Larkhall, so it surprises a lot of people that I’ve somehow managed to break away from the majority. I did actually get dragged along to a couple of Rangers game by my dad when I was younger.

Back in 1998, I bought my first season ticket and went to the games with a couple of semi-Rangers supporting mates, both have now returned to the darkside. I though was totally hooked. Eventually I started writing for a couple of the Motherwell websites and joined Fir Park Corner FC. I’ve stuck around since the team's first match on the astro behind the East Stand in 2001.

Where do you sit at Fir Park?
Back row of the East, I don’t do a great deal of sitting though.

What does your average matchday look like?
I’m up early doors to play football for the Corner. Travel to that game, stand at the side of the park for 45 minutes, then on the park for the second half. Off to the pub for a couple of drinks and to catch the lunchtime game on the telly. Up to Fir Park for kick off then back to Jack Daniels after the game.

What was the first Motherwell game you attended?
An evening kick off against Dundee United at Fir Park around 1993.

Who is your favourite Motherwell player of all time?
McFadden was a bit special, he kept us going during the first full season of admin. And that game against Livingston, what a day.

Who's your current favourite?
Ruddy has made a great start, he also looks like he would run through brick walls for fun. Let’s hope we keep him.

Best Motherwell game you've been to?
The 3-2 win against Hearts in the CIS Cup Semi, never been so knackered after a game.

Worst Motherwell game you've been to?
The St Mirren game at the end of the Malpas’ reign of terror. Was just an awful day.

Hopes for the team for the season ahead?
Top 6 would be a good start and I’d like to think we’ll make a decent go of the Scottish Cup.

Hopes for the Trust over the next year?
It’s crucial that we become more active this year. I’m expecting to see a lot of new initiatives which will help the club and community. I’m hoping for a calendar of great events which will go down well with the support and help us to drive membership up.
