Trust Open Meeting a success PDF Print E-mail

Motherwell Trust held an Open Meeting on Monday 9 March in order that the views of fans could be taken onboard. The Trust looked afresh at its aims and how they could best be achieved and the guidance of the audience proved valuable.

Fir Park’s Cooper Suite proved to be more than adequate given the disappointing turnout for the consultation exercise but the suggestions which emerged will give the board a clear path to follow.  The main points to emerge were that

- youth development funding should be a key part of the Trust's purpose
- both fundraising and social events should continue
- a close season advertising campaign should be planned
- players and backroom staff should be encouraged to join
- regular press releases should be issued- membership incentives should be developed
- our list of achievements be better publicised
- we should hold regular meetings with decision makers at Fir Park
- communication routes should be fully explored
- online and paper based versions of the newsletter should be resumed.

The Trust's website has undergone a refreshing makeover and a new logo has been adopted as part of the continuing development of Trust.  Fans can now sign up through the website.  The board are testing a membership management system which it hopes will deliver a comprehensive set of benefits.  The tone of the meeting was friendly and constructive and the board are grateful to the supporters who took time to attend and pass on their views on the future of the Trust.
