Contact martin@mstonline.net Biography Martin has been involved in supporters organisations for nearly 25 years initially as Secretary of the East Kilbride Motherwell Supporters Club and then as the Secretary and finally Chairman of the Association of Motherwell F.C. Supporters Clubs. For the past 15 years he has held the post of Secretary of the Scottish Federation of Football Supporters Clubs. In this capacity he has over the past years lobbied with colleagues for the extension of government funding for Supporters Trusts in Scotland. This objective was met when the Scottish Executive supported the extension of Supporters Direct in Scotland. He believes that the future of football in Scotland will be secured only by the involvement of supporters in a structured way through bodies such as Supporters Trusts. The establishment of the Motherwell Supporters’ Society Limited will give Motherwell supporters a mechanism through which they can contribute in a constructive way to the future direction and development of the Club. |
